First Online Training for RAINBOW Centre Staff : Covid 19 Cannot Stop Us
The multi country project envisioned by BIMTECH, Project RAINBOW, involving three Institutes of high repute like, FH Joanneum Austria, University of Jyvaskyla Finland and INCOMA Spain along with two well established Indian Universities; NIRMA University Gujarat and SPSU Udaipur, cofounded by Erasmus + Program of the European Union; which started in November 2018, has completed its first year and entered in to II year. Having a strong foundation of meticulous planning and backed by dedicated execution, project has completed some of the milestones focused toward real-time stockholding and making an effort to contribute towards the cause of gender mainstreaming through action research approach.
As one of the key intervention of this project Birla Institute of Management Technology had installed ‘RAINBOW Centre for Women Career Counselling & Guidance’ for capacity building and counselling of university female students, alumni and industry workforce as well as other social groups,on the eve of International Women Day on March 6th 2020.
First online training of the staff of RAINBOW Centre was conducted from August 5th to August 8th 2020 for 15 RAINBOW Centre staff of all three partner Institutes of INDIA, namely BIMTECH, Gr. NOIDA, SPSU Udaipur and NIRMA University, Ahmedabad, despite several challenges posed by COVID- 19 pandemic. From BIMTECH, Ms. Rupali Singh (Sr. Manager- Centre for International Business and Policy & Diploma in Foreign Trade), Ms. Meenaskshi Bhat (Sr. Manager -Centre for Business Management), Ms. Sangeeta Safaya(Manager- Admissions), Ms. Madhavi Sharma (Manager- Alumni Relations & Centre for Faculty Development) and Ms. Nidhi Bharadwaj Batra ( Manager – Centre for Corporate Relations), attended the online training for all 4 days and made creative presentations for defining the identity, activities and outreach of RAINBOW Centre at BIMTECH. Prof. Rupert Beinhauer from FHJ Austria created a worth remembering experience as the lead trainer. Dr. Rahul Singh (Mentor) and Prof. Himanshi Tiwari, (Head) RAINBOW Centre at BIMTECH acted as a facilitator for smooth conduct of first online training of their team with a hope that RAINBOW Centre for Women Career Counselling & Guidance reaches it desired place in the arena of women empowerment, gender mainstreaming in higher education, bringing more alumni to active workforce and gender specific career counselling and guidance for females in India.
