Centre for Management Development & Consultancy (CMDC)
At BIMTECH, Centre for Management Development & Consultancy (CMDC) aims to create a training base which engages in management advocacy for general management and human resource development and aligns itself with the human resource practices. Executive Education involves educational activities that do not lead to a degree but have educational objectives at a level consistent with higher education in management. One of the prime objectives of CMDC is to conduct Management Development Program in various functional areas of management to provide quality inputs to national and international conglomerates, government, public and private sector organizations, donor agencies and international and national NGOs and disseminate knowledge by organising HR Round Tables.
Some of the Training programs and HR Round Table organised by CMDC BIMTECH during the previous quarter are as follows:
Management Development Programs Delivered
Strategic Thinking & Execution: This was the second training program delivered by BIMTECH for GAIL in the current FY 2020-21. The program was organised online for five days (16 hrs) from 28 Sept to 5 October 2020. Prof. Sunil Sangra, Professor of Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship delivered the sessions which included inputs on Strategy, Purpose, Vision and Values, The starting points of Strategy, Environmental Analysis, Internal Analysis, Strategy Formulation, Strategy Implementation. A total of 20 participants of GM, DGM and Chief Manager level had attended this training program.
People Analytics: BIMTECH delivered online training program on People Analytics for the middle level executives of Power System Operation Corporation (POSOCO), a Govt of India enterprise. This program was of a 16 hours duration spread across 8 days from 13 October 2020 to 22 October 2020. Dr. Itilekha Dash, Asst. Professor, OB & HR from BIMTECH had delivered the sessions which included inputs on Work force Diversity Analytics, Employee Engagement Analytics, Predicting Employee Performance Analytics, Employee Turnover Analytics, and Selection Analytics etc. The program commenced with addresses by Prof. K K Sinha, Dean – Executive Education BIMTECH and Mr Ajay Philip, GM HR POSOCO. A total of 23 middle level participants had attended the training program.
How to Increase Emotional Quotient, Master Emotions, and Boost Social Skills in Day to Day Communication: This training program was delivered to the executives of Power Grid Corporation in two Batches. The first program was held online on 10 – 12 November 2020 for 9 hours. This was delivered by Dr. Archana Shrivastava, Head – Business Communication Area and Prof. Meera Kapoor from Business Communication Area of BIMTECH on the topics Construction of Clear Sentences and Paragraphs, Adoptation and Selection of Right Words, Basic Principles of Business Writing, Art of Crafting Persuasive Messages, Importance of Readable Formatting, Basics of Business Report & Proposal Writing etc.
The second program was delivered to Batch-2 of the Power Grid on 25 – 27 November 2020 for 9 hours. This was delivered by Dr. Archana Shrivastava, Head – Business Communication Area, Dr. Himanshi Tiwari Assistant Professor HR and Dr. Navin Shrivastava Assistant Professor, OB/HR from BIMTECH on the topics Emotion and Its Source, Impact on Body and Mind, Understanding Emotional Intelligence through Knowing Self and Others and Social Intelligence, Active Listening and Art of giving Feedback, Disagreeing with others without turning others off, Understanding and Managing Conflict, Negotiation & Collaboration at Work Place etc.
A total of 70 participants of middle level from batch-1 and 2 have attended the training program.
HR Round Table Delivered
BIMTECH has been organizing HR Round Tables in most of the senior Metros every year on the contemporary HR issues, in association with National HRD Network and Deloitte as Knowledge Partner. BIMTECH had previously organised 33 HR Round Tables. Due to current pandemic we decided to hold HR Round Tables in Webinar mode this time. In the previous quarter we organised following two HR Round Tables, out of five planned this year 2020 – 21, on the Theme “Making HR effective in the Pandemic world”
34th HR Round Table: The 34th HR Round Table was organised on 11th September 2020, in association with National HRD Network and Deloitte as Knowledge Partner.
The program commenced with the Welcome Address by Dr. H Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH, who set the tone for the discussion.
The panel discussion on the Sub-theme “Criticality of Employee Engagement in dealing with the crisis” was moderated by Ms. Poornima Damodaran, Sr. Director – Consulting, Deloitte India, who raised many pertinent questions and sought the opinions of the Panelists on those issues. The panel consisted of the following women Leaders from Industry:

35th HR Round Table: The 35th HR Round Table was organised on 6th November 2020, in association with National HRD Network and Deloitte as Knowledge Partner. The panel discussion on the Sub-theme ” Strategies for Learning & Development to meet the training needs in the changing times post Covid-19” was moderated by Mr. Pratik Mehta, Partner – Human capital Advisory Practice, Deloitte Consulting.
